The choke manifold has been completely localized as the control equipment for the gas wells in the Khanguiran and Tos fields. This project was designed and built with the aim of safely conducting flow operations for wells lacking processing facilities and has reached the operational phase by the specialists of the East Oil and Gas Production Company.
Details of the Localization of the Choke Manifold
Behrouz Rahdari, head of the technical services department for wells at the East Oil and Gas Production Company, explained that this equipment was built by the specialists of the company's wellhead technical services unit after preparing technical drawings and obtaining the necessary approvals. After successfully passing performance and pressure tests, its operating certificate was issued for the sour gas wells in the Mazdooran reservoir in the Khanguiran and Tos fields.
Field Testing and Its Impacts
Rahdari, referring to the field testing of this equipment in the Khanguiran operational area, stated: The 41.16-inch choke manifold was tested operationally and in the field during the production phase of the sour gas well No. 35 in Khanguiran, in the presence of senior managers of this company, and reached the operational readiness stage. The presence of 3.5 mol% hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) in the gas of this well has made the successful execution of this project a significant achievement in enhancing the safety of sour gas well operations.
Rahdari also emphasized the importance of this project, considering it a model of reliance on the knowledge and technical capabilities of domestic specialists. He stated that the implementation of this project, in addition to enhancing safety and increasing operational efficiency, is an effective step in supporting domestic manufacturing and achieving self-sufficiency policies.
The East Oil and Gas Production Company, which is a subsidiary of the Central Oil Fields Company of Iran, operates in the Khanguiran operational area located 35 kilometers from the city of Sarakhs. The gas produced by this company plays a key role in supplying the energy needs of the northeastern provinces of the country.
