SLB has signed a 15-year contract with TotalEnergies for the global deployment of its digital well planning and engineering technology, known as DrillPlan. This agreement aims to enhance collaboration and coherence in drilling and well engineering operations, particularly in standardizing the digital drilling planning environment.
Benefits of DrillPlan Technology
The DrillPlan technology is specifically designed to integrate data from adjacent wells, well path designs, casing and completion inputs, and engineering assumptions used during the well construction process. This platform is designed so that subsurface, drilling, and engineering teams can utilize a shared set of data and planning parameters.

Expectations and Goals of the Contract
Rakesh Jaggi, President of SLB's Digital Business, stated that "operators are increasingly looking for scalable technologies that can support more coherent planning decisions across large and diverse portfolios." This contract represents a shift by customers towards digital solutions that improve coherence and enhance collaboration.
This deployment will combine existing TotalEnergies digital streams and internal processes developed by the company with SLB's well construction and digital technology capabilities. The system is designed to accommodate custom engineering processes while supporting integration with other digital platforms.
This agreement expands the existing technology collaboration between SLB and TotalEnergies and is designed to support the ongoing introduction of digital tools in TotalEnergies' well planning and engineering activities. The financial details of this agreement and the timeline for the global deployment have yet to be announced.
