Seyed Mohammad Atabak, the Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, stated in today's public webinar session of the parliament that the recent imposed war has caused significant damage to the country's industry while reviewing the recovery process of production capacity in various industrial sectors. According to the provided information, 12.5 million tons of sponge iron have been lost due to these conflicts.

Damages to Industrial Units

Atabak mentioned in this session that the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade initially faced 269 damaged industrial and commercial units due to the 12-day war, and this number increased to 3,396 units during the 40-day war. These damages have negatively affected not only production but also industrial progress and economic growth in the country.

The Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade emphasized that these units must be identified and assessed so that the government can provide the necessary assistance. He also reported on the actions taken in this regard, stating: "We have dispatched official judicial experts to the damaged units and followed up on requests related to tax and customs issues."

Efforts to Rebuild and Revive Damaged Units

Atabak further stated that for the reconstruction of the damaged units, 40 orders have been submitted to the Planning Organization and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance. He thanked Pourmohammadi, the head of the Planning and Budget Organization, for his efforts in this area and mentioned that part of these orders has currently been communicated to the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade.

The Minister of Industry also referred to other actions taken by the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, saying: "We have allocated the ministry's funds in this regard to gather resources and assist the damaged companies. Attention to the production chain is very important, as the damage to one unit can affect other units as well. For example, Mobarakeh Steel, as one of the key units in the steel chain, has faced damages that have significantly impacted its dependent units."

He also announced that most of the Mobarakeh Steel furnaces that had been out of operation have now returned to production and are currently in use. According to Atabak, this return to production can help improve the conditions of the country's steel industry.

Given these circumstances, Atabak emphasized the importance of rebuilding and reviving industrial units, stating: "We must strengthen these units through cooperation and solidarity so that the country can return to its pre-war production level, which requires financial support and special facilities."
