Seafy expands its digital ecosystem for ships with the launch of the P2T (Push-to-Talk) system. This system is designed for operational communications between crew members and transforms smartphones into push-to-talk devices connected to the existing Wi-Fi network on the ship.
P2T System Functionality
The P2T system enables crew members to communicate with each other through dedicated channels, even when the ship is not connected to the internet. This system operates completely offline and, when an external connection is available, allows communication with other ships in the fleet and with teams stationed onshore. This facilitates continuous coordination between the ship and the shores.

Benefits of P2T for Crew
Seafy P2T provides an additional layer for internal operational communications and does not replace radio equipment and safety communication systems. This system operates based on a server installed on the ship that locally manages voice communications, users, and channels. This allows crew members to use devices they already have, eliminating the need for additional radio devices for each user.
When connected, P2T synchronizes with shore-based management tools, enabling communication between ships and company offices onshore. Through iOS and Android applications, crew members can access their dedicated channels and conduct push-to-talk communications.
Support for voice transmission with less than 100 milliseconds delay and conversation management to prevent interference from simultaneous transmissions are other features of this system. Additionally, this system allows prioritization of communications, including high-priority communications that can override an ongoing transmission if necessary.
The licensing model of the system is based on the ship rather than the user. Seafy P2T is licensed per ship, regardless of the number of crew members. Three different configurations are available for various needs, including refrigerators, cargo ships, and passenger ships, supporting up to 1000 users per ship.
P2T enables ships to allow crew members to communicate with each other using their smartphones without needing an internet connection, while maintaining complete control of the system in the hands of the shipping company.
