Saeed Tavakoli emphasized the ongoing energy imbalance in the country during the "Mehrbano, Energy Ambassador" campaign held on October 20. He considered this imbalance a chronic issue that existed even before the onset of conflicts and damages caused by war, challenging the management of energy supply and consumption.

Actions of oil and gas industry employees in crisis conditions

Tavakoli noted the damage to gas facilities during the war and the efforts of oil and gas industry employees to restore the damaged capacities, stating: "Employees from various sectors of the gas industry, relying on technical knowledge, expertise, and coordination, worked to rebuild facilities and maintain the stability of the network." This experience highlights the importance of operational readiness and the role of specialized forces in ensuring the country's gas supply.

Management of optimal energy consumption

The CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company emphasized that optimizing consumption is one of the effective solutions for managing the energy imbalance, stating: "Adjusting consumption patterns can help reduce pressure on the network in the short term." Tavakoli pointed to the high share of consumption in the residential sector and added: "A 10% reduction in high-consumption provinces can help better manage gas supply conditions."

He also referred to the increased pressure on the network in some regions of the country during the cold season, stating: "Golestan, Mazandaran, and North Khorasan provinces may face more challenging conditions during peak consumption periods." Tavakoli addressed the necessity of cultural development in the energy sector, stating: "Consumption management should become a sustainable behavior in families and should not mean imposing difficulties on people's lives."

The "Mehrbano; Energy Ambassador" campaign

Continuing, Tavakoli outlined the goals of the "Mehrbano; Energy Ambassador" campaign, stating: "This program is aimed at strengthening the culture of optimal consumption and increasing social participation in energy management. There are no restrictions on women's participation in this campaign." He added: "The role of women in families and society provides an important capacity for raising public awareness about optimal energy consumption."

Tavakoli also mentioned the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Basij, in which about 150,000 Basij women will act as energy ambassadors in mosques. He emphasized that mosques can serve as an effective platform for direct communication with families and promoting a culture of responsible energy consumption.
