Reza Saleh Ahmadi has been appointed as the CEO of Khuzestan Petrochemical Company. Khuzestan Petrochemical, as the only producer of engineering polymers including polycarbonate and epoxy resins in the country and the Middle East, plays a significant role in supplying raw materials for the automotive, medical, and electronics industries. This appointment aims to leverage Saleh Ahmadi's experiences in addressing process bottlenecks and increasing productivity in production units.
Management Background of Reza Saleh Ahmadi
Reza Saleh Ahmadi has extensive experience in technical and managerial levels in the petrochemical industry. Prior to his role at Khuzestan Petrochemical, he was the CEO of Bou Ali Sina Petrochemical Company. In this position, he played a crucial role in stabilizing production and rehabilitating the units of this petrochemical company.
Saleh Ahmadi has also worked at Shahid Tondgouyan Petrochemical Company, the largest producer of PET and PTA in the country, where he held senior managerial and executive positions. Throughout his career at Persian Gulf Holding, he has served on the boards of various petrochemical companies and supervised projects aimed at improving the quality of polymer products.
Capacity and Activities of Khuzestan Petrochemical
Khuzestan Petrochemical Company, located in site 4 of the special economic zone of petrochemicals in Bandar Imam Khomeini (Mahshahr), has an annual production capacity that includes a polycarbonate unit with 25,000 tons and an epoxy resin unit with a capacity of 10,000 tons. This complex is recognized as the only producer of engineering polymers in the Middle East.
The polycarbonate (PC) unit of Khuzestan Petrochemical is used in the automotive industry, electrical components, lighting industries, and medical tools. The epoxy resin unit also produces various types of liquid, solid, and solution resins with a capacity of 10,000 tons per year, which are used in industrial paints, advanced adhesives, and aerospace and marine industries.
Production at Khuzestan Petrochemical faces multiple challenges due to the complex nature of polymerization and dependence on specific feedstocks. Among these challenges is the sustainable supply of key feedstocks such as Bisphenol A (BPA), phosgene, and epichlorohydrin. Additionally, enhancing the quality of produced grades and aligning them with international standards to compete with imported products is another goal of the new management.
Saleh Ahmadi's management focuses on restoring production capacities to optimal levels and developing specialized grades with high added value. These strategies are aimed at reducing costs and improving product quality to meet domestic and export needs.
