The government meeting today (Wednesday, October 21) chaired by Masoud Pezeshkian, the President, was held to review the latest actions taken for the reconstruction of refineries and damaged oil and gas facilities in the country. This meeting particularly focused on the status of facilities located in the Pars Energy Special Economic Zone, which is recognized as one of the most important centers for gas and oil production in the country.

Status of Damaged Facilities

In this meeting, a report on the status of damaged facilities was presented by officials from the Ministry of Oil. According to this report, about 15 percent of the country's oil and gas production capacity has been affected due to damages caused by recent incidents. Among these, the South Pars gas field, with a daily production capacity of 500 million cubic meters of gas, has been highlighted as one of the key areas for reconstruction.

Actions Taken and Future Plans

Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized the need to expedite the reconstruction process of facilities and refineries and urged officials to provide specific and scheduled plans for restoring production capacity to normal. He also pointed out the importance of inter-organizational cooperation in this regard, stating: "The reconstruction of oil and gas facilities is only possible with the collaboration and brainstorming of all relevant institutions and sectors."

Furthermore, the President reviewed the details of short-term and long-term plans for the reconstruction of damaged facilities and called for the necessary funding for these projects. Specifically, reconstruction projects in the South Pars gas field and the Phase 14 refinery of this field have been identified as top priorities.

Finally, necessary decisions for allocating resources and funding to the reconstruction projects of damaged facilities were approved by the government. These decisions reflect the government's determination to restore production capacities and meet the domestic needs of the country. It is expected that with the implementation of these programs, the country's oil and gas production capacity will gradually return to its previous level and the necessary grounds for the sustainable development of this industry will be provided.
