The National Iranian Drilling Company has begun the reconstruction of the Shahid Rajei offshore drilling rig to enhance the efficiency and performance of its offshore drilling fleet. This rig, which joined the company's fleet in 1985, is recognized as one of the most equipped and complete drilling units in the Persian Gulf and has drilled over 100 wells to date.

Suspension of Activities of the Shahid Modarres Drilling Rig

Saeed Ghorbani, the director of offshore drilling operations at the National Iranian Drilling Company, mentioned the suspension of the Shahid Modarres drilling rig due to wear and tear, stating that currently the inclined drilling rig is positioned at the Abu Zar oil platform and the 48 Fath drilling rig is operational on Khark Island. Additionally, the 42 Fath rig is currently seeking work.

Drilling Operations in the Persian Gulf

In the first half of this year, the National Iranian Drilling Company successfully drilled, repaired, and completed 7 wells in the area under its management. Ghorbani, appreciating the efforts of the company's employees under special and difficult conditions, emphasized the importance of drilling oil and gas wells in the waters of the Persian Gulf and thanked them for their continuous efforts.

As part of the development plans for the marine fleet, negotiations are underway to sign a contract with one of the active companies in the field of marine industry for the construction of two 400-foot drilling rigs. This initiative is part of the efforts of the CEO of the National Iranian Drilling Company to strengthen the offshore drilling fleet.

Challenges and Industrial Future

Considering the existing challenges in the oil and energy industry, the reconstruction and strengthening of the offshore drilling fleet can lead to increased productivity and reduced costs. The National Iranian Drilling Company, in light of the growing needs of the oil industry, is seeking to improve and develop its facilities to perform better in both international and domestic competitions.

Ultimately, the reconstruction of the Shahid Rajei offshore drilling rig will not only help improve the operational capacity of this company but can also lead to increased energy security for the country. Given the importance of drilling in the waters of the Persian Gulf, this action could have positive implications for the future of the country's oil and gas industry.
