Omid Shakeri on Wednesday (October 8) visited the Karon, Amir Kabir, and Razi petrochemical complexes on the second day of his visit to the Mahshahr special economic zone and was informed about the reconstruction and commissioning process of these complexes.

Details of the Visit to the Petrochemical Complexes

The Karon petrochemical complex, with an annual production capacity of 450,000 tons of PVC and 120,000 tons of EDC, is recognized as one of the key complexes in the production of petrochemical products in the country. Due to its unique geographical conditions and access to natural resources, this complex plays an important role in meeting the domestic and export needs of the country.

The Amir Kabir petrochemical complex, with a production capacity of 300,000 tons of heavy polyethylene and 400,000 tons of light polyethylene, is among the largest producers of these types of products in Iran. With the reconstruction and upgrading of this complex's equipment, it is expected that production capacity and product quality will significantly increase.

Importance of Reconstruction of Complexes and Its Impacts

The Razi petrochemical complex, with a production capacity of 300,000 tons of methanol and 400,000 tons of ammonia, has faced numerous challenges in recent years. Due to equipment wear and the need for technology upgrades, this complex is also prioritized for reconstruction. These actions will not only help increase production capacity but will also reduce costs and improve product quality.

Given the importance of petrochemicals in the country's economy and its impact on employment and production, the reconstruction and upgrading of these complexes are considered a top priority for the government and the Ministry of Oil. These projects are expected to be operational soon and will help increase the production and export capacity of the country's petrochemicals.

At the end of this visit, Omid Shakeri emphasized the need to expedite the reconstruction and commissioning process of these complexes and noted that with the cooperation and solidarity of all sectors, more favorable results can be achieved in this area.
