The CEO of Petropars Group, referring to the performance of this project during the fourteenth government, announced that the gas production capacity from Position B of Phase 11 of South Pars has reached one billion cubic feet per day. This figure has been achieved with the entry of all 12 wells of this position into the production cycle during this government.
Increase in the Number of Wells and Gas Production
Dr. Hamidreza Saqafi stated that the number of active wells in Position B during this government has increased from four production wells to 12 wells, and the gas production capacity of this position has doubled in the first 17 months of the fourteenth government. During this period, more than 26,480 meters of drilling has been carried out, and the completion and acidizing operations of the wells have continued so that all wells can enter the production cycle.
The Importance of Increasing Production and Field Development
Dr. Saqafi emphasized that reaching a production level of one billion cubic feet per day from Position B is the result of continuous drilling operations, well completion, and their preparation for production. This increase in production in one of the most border areas of the shared South Pars field also contributes to strengthening the country's gas supply and helping to reduce energy imbalance.
The CEO of Petropars Group also stated that after the breach of contract and exit of foreign companies, the continuation of the development of Phase 11 was entrusted to Petropars, and today the results of this path can be observed in the increased production of this phase. With the entry of the twelfth well into the production cycle, gas production at Platform B of Phase 11 has reached over 28 million cubic meters per day, with nearly 17 million cubic meters added to its daily production in the fourteenth government.
Challenges of Development and Continuation of the Project
In this process, about 50,000 meters of drilling has been done in Position B, and a drilling rig has also been used in the drilling operations. Petropars, as the executive arm of the National Iranian Oil Company, has advanced various parts of this project from drilling and completing wells to developing offshore and onshore facilities.
Dr. Saqafi further noted the development process of Position A of Phase 11 of South Pars, stating that after verticalizing the jacket, completing construction operations, loading, and bracing, this jacket has been installed in its final position. Piling operations have also continued in the tense environment of the Persian Gulf due to the violation of the ceasefire, and deck construction is still ongoing.
Dr. Saqafi concluded by emphasizing that Phase 11 has now reached a point where the results of the work of Iranian specialists are directly visible in the increase in production and the advancement of field development. Petropars will continue the development of this phase with a focus on increasing production capacity, safeguarding national interests, and implementing the policies of the Ministry of Oil.
