Crude oil prices faced a significant drop at the beginning of this week, reaching their lowest level in the past week. This price decrease is due to hopes for a diplomatic solution to the Middle East war. Currently, Brent oil is trading at $102.05 per barrel and West Texas Intermediate at $98.50 per barrel.
Oil Market Analysis and Influencing Factors
Traders are hopeful for a United Nations meeting this week, while in recent days, Washington and Tehran have made new threats against each other. The President of the United States has warned Iran that it will face economic collapse and regime change if no agreement is reached. In response, Iran has threatened to react strongly to any U.S. attack.

Meanwhile, Houthi forces in Yemen have also intensified their attacks against Saudi Arabia, with several targets in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, being attacked over the weekend. These developments would typically have a positive impact on oil prices, but hopes for a diplomatic solution have once again reduced risk in the oil market.
Future Expectations and Market Analysis
KCM Trade's senior market analyst, Tim Waterer, stated: "It seems that a degree of risk premium has been removed from oil prices, as there may be hope for a diplomatic path to reduce tensions in the U.S.-Iran war this week. Whether this hope materializes is another question, and time will tell."
In positive news for the oil market, Saudi Arabia has managed to readjust its oil flows, increasing its daily export rate from the Strait of Hormuz to 2.9 million barrels per day last week. This figure was only 700,000 barrels per day in August. This significant increase in Saudi oil exports could have a positive impact on the global oil market and help stabilize prices.
