NG Energy International has commenced operation of the Aruchara-6 well in the Maria Conchita block located in Colombia. This well has produced up to 8.7 million cubic feet per day (MMcfd) during initial testing from the Central Processing Facility (CPF), of which 6.96 million cubic feet per day (MMcfd) has been recorded as net production. This production rate has been achieved at an average pressure of 780 psi and using a 30/64 choke.
Technical Details of Aruchara-6 Well
The Aruchara-6 well has been drilled to a total depth of 9,352 feet and has reached the H1 target. Additionally, this well has successfully identified gas in the H2 to H6 zones. Jorge Fonzka, CEO of NG Energy, stated that "Aruchara-6 has provided positive results in gas production and is now connected to the main processing facilities and is in production. The well has flowed up to 8.7 million cubic feet per day during testing."
Increase in Production at Maria Conchita Field
With the operation of the new well, production at the Maria Conchita field is expected to increase from 16.0 million cubic feet per day (12.8 million cubic feet per day net) to 23.0 million cubic feet per day (18.4 million cubic feet per day net). This increase allows NG Energy to raise its total net production in the Maria Conchita and Sino-9 fields to approximately 29.1 million cubic feet per day. These net figures represent an 80% share of the company under private agreements.
Additional gas beyond the 15.0 million cubic feet per day specified in the contract is sold in the Colombian cash market at prices around $14 to $16 per thousand cubic feet, with some volumes even exceeding $20 per thousand cubic feet.
Update on Gas Processing Facilities
Production is approaching the capacity of 30 million cubic feet per day at the CPF facilities, so the infrastructure partner GTX International is upgrading these facilities by the end of October. The work being done includes adding a compressor and improving heat exchangers, cooling facilities, and dryers.
New Activities in the Sino-9 Block
In the Sino-9 block, operator Maurel & Prom Colombia began drilling the Encantado-1X well on October 6. This well is expected to help define the southern boundaries of the reservoir, calibrate the depth across the entire block, and test an area anticipated to have higher pressure. This well should also confirm the presence of gas in the Pre-CDO layer and assess the potential for liquids. The project partners have planned to drill at least one more well in Sino-9 this year.
A new pipeline from the Jobo connection built by INFRAES has also been put into operation. This pipeline increases the transportation capacity of Sino-9 from 30 million cubic feet per day to 40 to 45 million cubic feet per day, translating to 15.6 to 17.6 million cubic feet per day net to NG Energy.
