The Nehbadan petrochemical plant is being developed to meet the industrial and economic needs of South Khorasan province. Seyed Mohammad Reza Hashemi, the governor of South Khorasan, discussed the necessary infrastructure solutions for this project in a meeting with the representative of the people of Nehbadan and Sarbisheh in the Islamic Consultative Assembly and representatives of the Persian Gulf Holding.

Infrastructure Provision and Investment Barriers

The governor of South Khorasan emphasized in this meeting that the provision of land, water, electricity, gas, and access roads must be carried out simultaneously and swiftly so that investors do not face problems when starting the operational activities. He also mentioned that South Khorasan is recognized as one of the successful provinces in collaborating with investors.

Hashemi announced plans to provide the necessary infrastructure and remove barriers facing investors, stating: "The Economic Coordination Deputy of the Governor's Office and other responsible agencies will cooperate in this regard."

Major Infrastructure Projects in South Khorasan

The governor also referred to major infrastructure projects in South Khorasan, saying: "Railways, water transfer from the Oman Sea, gas transmission lines, and the development of communication routes are among the projects whose completion can provide a better foundation for industrial and economic development in the province."

Considering the limited water resources in South Khorasan, Hashemi emphasized that special attention should be paid to water issues in the location and implementation of industrial projects, prioritizing water-efficient industries with high added value.

Limitations and Opportunities of Nehbadan Petrochemical

The governor of South Khorasan further pointed to the capacities of the Nehbadan petrochemical plant, stating: "Investment on this scale can not only create direct and indirect employment but also lay the groundwork for the formation of downstream industries, increase added value, and develop economic activities in the province."

According to available information, the Nehbadan petrochemical project is being implemented with an investment of $35 million from the Persian Gulf Holding, and it is expected that this project will create 280 direct and indirect job opportunities. This project is considered an effective step towards the industrial and economic development of South Khorasan province.
