The National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company will hold a tender to equip 17,000 oil tankers with smart trackers to improve oversight of oil shipments. This project is considered the first phase of implementing a fleet management system for road tankers.
Establishment of Fleet Management Center
In this regard, a "Fleet Management" center will be established at the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company. The goal of creating this center is to monitor and assess the status of tanker shipments by installing smart systems. With this action, oversight of the supply and distribution chain of oil products will be improved, and real-time monitoring of shipments will be made possible.
Real-time Monitoring of the Supply Chain
Pouya Moarefi, the executor of this project, referred to the process of real-time monitoring of the oil products supply chain and stated that this project is defined in three phases. In these phases, the monitoring centers of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, the Oil Pipeline and Telecommunications Company, and the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company will be updated and completed.
He pointed to fundamental changes in the monitoring and oversight system for the distribution of oil products and added: Until now, measurements were done mechanically and through human factors, but with the installation of these smart systems, the process will be online and centralized.
Competition with Gulf Countries
Moarefi also addressed the competition of Iran's metering industry with Gulf countries and stated that this industry is updating itself with the latest global technologies. He confidently said that our country's metering engineering industry has a favorable and defensible position in the region compared to Gulf countries.
This action will not only help improve service quality and reduce costs but will also lead to the preservation of oil shipment security and prevention of violations. Given the significant importance of oil in the country's economy, this project can have many positive impacts on related industries.
