The National Iranian Gas Company is paying special attention to managing gas consumption and restoring the production capacity of this vital substance following the damage inflicted on the country's refineries. Nasrollah Pejmanfar, the head of the Parliamentary Commission on Article 90, mentioned in a meeting on Sunday (September 29) that the Ministry of Oil is taking measures to overcome the gas imbalance, and discussed issuing a preliminary certificate for consumers based on their gas savings.

Issuing Preliminary Certificates for Consumers

The purpose of issuing preliminary certificates for consumers is to create economic incentives for better gas consumption management. Pejmanfar announced that, with coordination between the National Iranian Gas Company, the National Iranian Oil Company, and the Planning and Budget Organization, this path will be pursued vigorously. The Ministry of Interior will also provide the necessary cooperation to achieve these goals.

Public Participation in Gas Consumption Management

The head of the Parliamentary Commission on Article 90 emphasized the importance of public participation in gas consumption and stated, "We have made every effort to work with the people and manage consumption properly to prevent energy-related problems and fully meet the needs of the industrial, agricultural, and residential sectors." Pejmanfar also added that the Commission on Article 90 will continue its ongoing oversight of the country's energy sectors and will regularly follow up on these meetings to ensure the country passes through the cold season in complete tranquility.

Restoring Gas Production Capacity

Saeed Tavakoli, the CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company, referred to the damage caused to four refineries in the country and said, "Due to this damage, approximately 230 million cubic meters of the country's gas production capacity has been lost. However, with the cooperation and efforts of all links in the gas supply chain, it is expected that about 100 million cubic meters of this capacity will be restored before the start of the winter season." This action can significantly help meet the country's energy needs during the cold season.
