The National Iranian Gas Company announced a new strategy for managing gas consumption in the country at the third meeting to address the challenges of contractor companies with type 2 contracts. Ahmad Zar'atkar, Deputy Minister of Oil for Planning Affairs, emphasized that the company's current approach has been upgraded to a basic regulatory balance, and gas consumption optimization is being pursued operationally.

Transformation in Energy Consumption Management

Zar'atkar pointed out the structural changes within the National Iranian Gas Company, emphasizing that direct management of energy consumption across the country has begun in collaboration with over 30 provincial gas companies. This transformation aims to leverage the capacities and creativity of the non-governmental sector to address the long-standing challenges of excessive gas consumption.

Real Optimization and Its Effects in Winter

Zar'atkar noted the distinction of the current approach from past decades, stating: "Optimization and savings in gas consumption over the past 28 years have largely remained in the form of conferences and theoretical discussions; however, today, with operational integration, real optimization has reached the implementation stage." He added that efforts will be made to determine the effects of these actions this winter.

Data Governance and Community Participation

The Deputy Minister of Oil further referred to the implementation of data governance and the development of platform-based systems, stating: "This project is designed to popularize gas consumption and engage the millions of subscribers in the gas network." The main goal of this initiative is to transform the spiritual value of savings into an economic and commercial model.

Smart Redistribution of Energy Resources

Zar'atkar also referred to the smart redistribution of energy resources, emphasizing that the saved gas through family participation will be directed towards productive sectors to prevent economic growth and job creation from being hindered during the cold seasons. These models have been designed by localizing global experiences to achieve the benefits of household subscribers and governance objectives.

Finally, the Deputy Minister of Oil announced the launch of the "Contractors' Service Desk" aimed at facilitating cooperation between provincial gas companies and the private sector and removing administrative barriers.
