Nabors Industries is returning to drilling operations in Venezuela starting in 2027 by signing a multi-year contract. This move is seen as a sign of the company's return to the Venezuelan market and an increase in drilling capacity in the country.

Contract Details and Rig Deployment

This contract includes the deployment of a drilling rig in Venezuela, through which Nabors Industries will aim to increase drilling capacity and exploit the country's oil resources. Given the current oil market conditions and energy demand, this move could have positive impacts on drilling activities and oil production in Venezuela.

Financial Performance and Future Outlook

In the third quarter of this year, Nabors Industries' daily gross margin reached a record $19,060, an increase of $1,526 compared to the second quarter. This increase is attributed to the deployment of a new drilling rig in Argentina and the SANAD program. Additionally, the average number of Nabors' international drilling rigs has risen to 94.9.

In the United States, particularly in the southern states, the average number of active drilling rigs has increased to 72.8, reflecting a 7% growth compared to the previous period. Nabors' rigs have helped two operators set new records in drilling operations. Notably, the PACE-B rig in North Dakota successfully drilled over 27,600 feet in 148 hours with an average penetration rate of nearly 187 feet per hour.

For the fourth quarter of the year, the average number of active rigs in the United States is expected to reach 75, while internationally it is projected to be between 92 and 93. Annual capital expenditures are also forecasted to be between $710 and $720 million, which includes $295 to $305 million for the SANAD rig construction program.

Nabors Industries' CFO, Miguel Rodriguez, announced that some phases of the SANAD construction have been pushed to later periods. With advancements in drilling technology and reliable field capabilities, the company is positioned to increase both the number of drilling rigs and its daily profit margin.
