Mohammad Sadegh Azimi Far, during the commemoration of the 46th anniversary of the Sacred Defense Week and the breaking of the siege of Abadan, explained the status of the refining and distribution industry in wartime conditions and said: "In recent wars, the energy sector has been one of the main focal points of conflict; a war whose impacts on oil and gas infrastructure and global energy security and international markets are undeniable."
Enemy's efforts to disrupt the fuel distribution chain
Azimi Far added: "The enemy aimed to disrupt the fuel distribution chain by targeting the refining and distribution chain and creating interruptions in vital arteries, attempting to attack strategic facilities." He referred to the enemy's attack on the oil depots in Tehran and Alborz and the product transfer facilities on the evening of March 6, 2025, stating: "These facilities were responsible for supplying and distributing millions of liters of fuel daily for the people, and the enemy's main goal was to break the nation's resistance and create public dissatisfaction."

Efforts of oil industry employees
The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company reminded: "In this regard, the refining and distribution industry has sacrificed seven martyrs; dear ones who gave their lives in the trench of supplying the country's energy." Azimi Far emphasized that the pumping stations of the Rey oil depot, as the beating heart of oil product transfer, are the main artery for the country's fuel transfer, and the enemy had estimated that within 72 hours, fuel distribution in the northern half of the country would be completely halted.
He continued: "In a situation where facilities were burning and there was a high risk, with the jihadist spirit of the employees of the refining industry, the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company, and the National Iranian Oil Pipeline and Telecommunications Company, a round-the-clock operation was initiated." He added: "Despite the halt in pipeline transfers, in an unprecedented action, fuel transfer was organized using the capacity of thousands of oil tankers, preventing any disruption or interruption in the country's fuel distribution."
Azimi Far concluded by saying: "Maintaining the flow of fuel transfer in the country succeeded while the enemy, dreaming of fuel imbalance, sought to disrupt people's lives and increase dissatisfaction; however, with the efforts of the oil industry employees, the enemy's equations failed, and the service delivery to the people continued vigorously."
