Mohammad Bahrami, a member of the Energy Commission of the Parliament, highlighted the importance of renewable energy and stated that the perspective on this type of energy should no longer be marginal. Given the limitations of fossil fuels and the heavy environmental costs, renewable energy is recognized as the most reliable alternative for sustainable energy supply.
Iran's Unique Opportunities in Renewable Energy
Bahrami referred to Iran's four-season climate and the angle and intensity of sunlight in various regions of the country, especially in the Zagros and central provinces, and said: "These conditions provide unique opportunities for optimal use of renewable energy."

He added: "According to official statistics, the nominal capacity of renewable energy in the country has seen significant growth in recent years. This growth indicates that whenever there is the necessary will and coordination, a leap in capacity is possible."
Challenges and Necessities for Renewable Energy Development
Bahrami emphasized: "Merely constructing panels and power plants is not enough; the renewable electricity ecosystem must grow in a balanced manner." He also stressed that the responsible agencies in the renewable energy development sector must properly fulfill their facilitative role from the licensing stage to operation and regular payment of claims. This process can assure investors that they will not feel uncertainty after signing contracts.
He also stated: "The development of renewable energy must transform from a temporary and reactive measure into a sustainable economic flow. Such an approach could be the salvation of the country from energy imbalances in the residential and industrial sectors." Bahrami concluded by noting that the Parliament will continue its supervisory role until the full establishment of the legal capacities of the seventh program in this area.
