Mohammad Al-Haddad, CEO of Tavanir, announced in a press conference at the end of the summer peak consumption period about the identification and collection of illegal miners in the industrial town of Behbahan. In this operation, Tavanir colleagues clashed with individuals who had installed illegal miners, resulting in damage to several vehicles and mobile phones.
Identification of illegal miners and incurred damages
Al-Haddad stated that during this operation, it was not possible to collect all devices on the same night, but over 3,000 illegal mining devices have been identified that require attention. Combating illegal electricity consumption
Al-Haddad urged the public to cooperate with the electricity industry in identifying illegal cryptocurrency mining centers and individuals who engage in electricity theft. He explained that if an illegal miner is discovered in a house, the subsidized electricity of that subscriber will be cut off, and they will have to pay for electricity at market rates for one year. Additionally, about 1.1 million electricity consumers without meters have been identified, and one million meters of illegal cables have been collected.
The CEO of Tavanir referred to the measures taken to prevent electricity wastage, stating that these actions have helped prevent nearly 6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity wastage.
Debt collection and electricity imbalance
Al-Haddad discussed the status of the electricity industry's receivables, stating that Tavanir's total receivables from customers have reached about 120 trillion tomans, of which approximately 75 trillion tomans are related to industries. He emphasized that collecting these receivables is crucial for financing the electricity industry and implementing development programs.
He further referred to the status of electricity imbalance, stating that at the beginning of the government's term, the electricity imbalance during peak consumption was about 20,000 megawatts, which has now decreased to about 10,000 megawatts. Additionally, during this period, about 3,000 megawatts of new thermal power plants have been created, and the capacity of renewable power plants has increased from 1,250 megawatts to 6,000 megawatts.
