In a meeting hosted by the Persian Gulf Fajr Energy Company, the CEOs of petrochemical companies in the special economic zone emphasized the need to preserve jobs and ensure production sustainability in this industry. This meeting took place on October 13, 2026, with the presence of Hormoz Baharvand, the governor of Mahshahr County, and Ayatollah Seyyed Abolhassan Hassan-Zadeh, the representative of Khuzestan in the Assembly of Experts.

Development of the Petrochemical Industry and Its Capacities

He emphasized the existing capacities in the petrochemical industry and pointed to the expansion of Iranian specialists' capabilities in managing and operating production units, adding: "The development of this industry should focus on strengthening the position of petrochemicals in regional competitions."

Hassan-Zadeh also referred to the damages inflicted on the petrochemical industry during the war and emphasized that the impacts of these damages on the market and product prices indicate the important position of this industry in the country's economy and the daily lives of people. He appreciated the efforts of employees to rebuild facilities and resume production, stating: "Petrochemical industry employees, with a sense of responsibility and compassion, worked to restore damaged units to production. Much of this effort has not been communicated to the public."

The Necessity of Management and Planning in the Petrochemical Industry

The representative of Khuzestan in the Assembly of Experts emphasized that the spirit of sacrifice and dedication must be accompanied by management and planning, adding: "Success in economic and industrial sectors cannot be achieved solely through sacrifice; this spirit yields optimal results only when backed by precise planning, thought, and effective management." He also considered the solidarity and cooperation among petrochemical company managers as effective factors in overcoming difficult conditions and called for the continuation of this approach in the reconstruction and operation of production units.

Hassan-Zadeh concluded his remarks by emphasizing the necessity of documenting the efforts of petrochemical employees and called for the recording and narration of their actions and sacrifices. He stated: "The efforts of employees, the process of rebuilding industrial units, and the sacrifices of martyrs in the petrochemical industry are significant realities of this period that must be documented with appropriate planning and utilizing the capacities of the companies' public relations to inform the public."

Hormoz Baharvand, the governor of Mahshahr County, also expressed gratitude during this meeting for the initiative of Dr. Ahmadzadeh, CEO of Persian Gulf Fajr Energy, in organizing this session, referring to the efforts of petrochemical managers and employees to maintain production flow. He said: "With the cooperation and decision-making of petrochemical industry managers, a significant portion of concerns regarding production stoppage has been alleviated, and companies have returned to production."

Baharvand also emphasized the importance of securing electricity for industrial units, stating: "With the improvement of weather conditions and reduced electricity consumption, the energy supply situation for industrial units is improving. With the continuation of this trend, the electricity supply for petrochemical companies will be carried out more easily in the coming months."

This meeting emphasized the necessity of continued cooperation among petrochemical companies, job preservation, and the acceleration of rebuilding damaged infrastructure and ensuring sustainable energy supply for the continuity of production activities. These topics are part of the Persian Gulf Fajr Energy Company's plans for restoring the production capacities of electricity and steam in the petrochemical industry of the region.
