KEO Energy has appointed Philip Beaz as its new CEO to oversee the establishment of the company's operations in Venezuela and support the redevelopment plans for the Petroardentata oil fields in the Maracaibo basin.

Experience and Expertise of Philip Beaz

Beaz, who will be based in Venezuela, will focus on preparing the Petroardentata operations and assessing further investment opportunities in the oil and gas sector in the country. He has 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and has worked in upstream positions with major companies such as Total Energies and Enova. Beaz has also previously collaborated in management consulting roles with renowned consulting firms like Schlumberger and McKinsey, advising international and national oil and gas companies in Latin America. He began his career as a drilling engineer with Total E&P.

Expansion of Operations and Investment in Petroardentata

Davide Thomasoni, CEO of KEO Energy, commented on this appointment: "Beaz's extensive experience in upstream, operations, and transactions will strengthen our management team as we prepare for the redevelopment of the Petroardentata fields."

In July 2026, KEO Capital signed a definitive agreement to acquire an additional 16% indirect stake in Petroardentata for $37.5 million, increasing the company's ownership to 40%. This deal also includes a conditional payment of €18 million related to cumulative production targets.

This appointment comes as KEO Energy is preparing to expand its operational activities in Petroardentata and pursue further upstream opportunities in Venezuela.
