The increase in oil supply from the Persian Gulf, while the market remains concerned about possible disruptions in this region, has drawn attention. These concerns have arisen particularly due to the lack of progress in negotiations between the United States and Iran and potential risks regarding escalating tensions.
Status of Oil Pipelines
Reports indicate that Saudi Arabia's East-West pipeline has once again been targeted in an attack. This pipeline had recently become operational after another attack. Although the latest attack has not affected oil flow, it serves as a reminder of the ongoing risks to oil supply in this region.

Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, as two major oil producers in the Persian Gulf, are actively adapting to the current situation. Kuwait has announced that it is currently operating at 75% of pre-war production levels. Additionally, Saudi Arabia has reduced the official selling price of Arab Light crude to Asia for November loadings, indicating an improvement in supply conditions.
Status of the European Gas Market
While there are signs of increased liquefied natural gas (LNG) flow from the Persian Gulf, the European gas market remains vulnerable. Gas storage in the European Union is approximately 73% full, down from 83% at the same time last year, and below the five-year average of 88%. Although injections in September were above seasonal averages, the region still faces challenges in meeting storage targets ahead of winter.
Weather conditions in the upcoming winter could impact the severity of market constraints. Forecasts suggest that a strong El Niño could raise hopes for a mild winter.
Status of the Metals and Agricultural Products Market
In the metals market, copper prices have seen a slight increase due to limited physical conditions. Concerns over potential tariffs on copper from the United States have led to flows of this metal into the U.S. market, reducing inventories in other parts of the world. Demand for this metal remains steady due to electrification projects and renewable energy infrastructure.
In the agricultural products market, sugar prices have increased for the third consecutive day. Raw sugar No. 11 has risen by more than 4%, surpassing 20 cents per pound. This increase is due to concerns over a reduction in global supply caused by adverse weather conditions affecting production in key areas.
In Brazil, heavy rainfall has damaged sugarcane harvesting and crushing operations, leading to a significant decrease in sugar production in the center-south of the country. Additionally, in India, below-normal rainfall has reduced production forecasts, and sugar beet yields in Europe are estimated to be 11% lower than the five-year average.
Data from the Ukrainian Ministry of Agriculture shows that grain and legume exports in the 2026/27 harvest season as of October 5 have decreased by 26% compared to last year. Total corn exports have increased to 2 million tons, while wheat exports have decreased by 2.9 million tons, a 43% decline. This drop in exports is due to ongoing disruptions in Black Sea trade and continued attacks between Russia and Ukraine.
