The cost of gas for petrochemical companies has entered a new phase in 2026. According to the natural gas pricing announcement issued on September 22, 2026, the feedstock price for petrochemicals for August reached 29,749 tomans per cubic meter, and the fuel gas price for September was set at 17,849 tomans. The important point for shareholders is that these figures are not just a new rate for gas bills; the difference between the previous rates and the finalized figures must be calculated in the companies' accounts, and its effect will reflect in the financial statements for the period ending September 22, 2026.
Gas Prices in the Early Months of the Year
The new announcement shows that the gas prices for industries were not stable during the early months of the year and increased in several stages. In the feedstock sector, the rates for Farvardin and Ordibehesht were 17,956 tomans per cubic meter, which rose to 20,127 tomans in Khordad and increased to 26,570 tomans in Tir. This trend continued in August, with the feedstock price reaching 29,749 tomans.

Impact of Gas Price Increase on Financial Statements
In the fuel sector, the price rose from 10,773 tomans in Farvardin and Ordibehesht to 12,076 tomans in Khordad, 15,941 tomans in Tir, and 17,849 tomans in August and September. Therefore, the cost of each cubic meter of fuel gas has increased by about 65.7 percent from the beginning of the year to September.
The difference in feedstock price from Farvardin to August is about 11,793 tomans per cubic meter. As a result, a plant that hypothetically calculates one million cubic meters of feedstock gas at the August rate compared to the beginning of the year will face a cost difference of about 11 billion 793 million tomans. For the consumption of one million cubic meters of fuel gas, the cost difference reaches about 7 billion 76 million tomans.
Several petrochemical companies have stated in their announcements that the financial impacts of the gas price adjustment will be calculated and reflected in the interim financial statements ending September 22, 2026. This issue has been explicitly mentioned in the announcements of companies such as Shiraz Petrochemical, Zagros Petrochemical, Fanavaran Petrochemical, Khorasan Petrochemical, and Kermanshah Petrochemical.
