Hamid Bord, the head of the Ministry of Oil of the Islamic Republic of Iran, officially departed for this country today (Thursday, October 8) at the invitation of the President of Turkmenistan. This trip is aimed at participating and speaking at two important summits, the summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the environmental summit of the Caspian Sea.
Objectives of the Trip
Hamid Bord expressed hope that during meetings and discussions with the leaders of the region, actions would be taken to pursue and achieve the goals and interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This trip is particularly significant in terms of economic and energy cooperation, which are key topics of the negotiations.
Topics of Negotiation
Bord's presence on this trip is very important due to the focus on economic and energy topics in regional negotiations and also strengthening bilateral and multilateral relations between Iran and neighboring countries. Issues such as joint projects, oil and gas cooperation, and creating suitable conditions for investment in energy sectors will be discussed at these summits.
In this regard, the capacity of joint oil and gas fields with Turkmenistan and other countries in the region is also on the agenda. In particular, the gas field "Dosti," which is a joint field between Iran and Turkmenistan, will be one of the key topics of negotiation. This field has an approximate production capacity of 40 million cubic meters of gas, which can help meet the energy needs of both countries.
Expected Results
The results of this trip could lead to strengthening economic and energy relations between Iran and the countries of the region and also bring new opportunities for developing cooperation in various fields including oil and gas, petrochemicals, and renewable energies. These developments could help improve the economic situation and increase energy security in the region.
Ultimately, this trip demonstrates the determination and will of the Islamic Republic of Iran to expand regional and global cooperation in the energy sector, and it seems that given the current conditions of the energy market, these negotiations could be beneficial for all parties involved.
