Mohsen Hajimirzai, in an interview referring to the fourteenth government's plans for boosting gas field pressure, stated: Maintaining and increasing the pressure of gas fields to prevent a decline in oil well productivity is a priority. The Economic Council has also approved a contract related to gas field pressure enhancement worth 17 billion dollars.
Collecting Flare Gases
Hajimirzai discussed the government's plan for collecting flare gases, saying: The gases that are flared and burned are considered national wealth from which revenue can be generated. Additionally, burning these gases not only leads to lost income but also incurs environmental costs. Currently, about 50 million cubic meters of gas are burned daily in this manner. Previously, in the last government, about 6 million cubic meters of these gases were captured, and in this government, another 10 million cubic meters have been captured, bringing the total capture to about 16 million cubic meters.

Targeting Gas Capture
The President's Chief of Staff continued: The program's target is to capture and utilize about 44 million cubic meters of these gases by the end of the designated program. The President has emphasized the acceleration of this process and has stated that if there is a need for the capacity of other countries or the required technologies, they should be utilized to expedite the work.
Hajimirzai also referred to the government's plan for winter gas supply and clarified that one of the most numerous government meetings is dedicated to addressing this winter's gas shortage. The Ministry of Oil is working to revive the lost production while consumption must also be reduced.
He added: The highest gas consumption is in the residential sector, and families need to control their consumption. In a situation where the country is resisting against the enemy, we must increase our capacities in the energy sector.
Hajimirzai also mentioned the issue of gasoline and emphasized that if the gasoline deficit is covered through imports, about 9 to 10 billion dollars will be needed this year. The government must manage consumption alongside increasing production.
