Fatemeh Mohajerani elaborated on the status of energy supply for the winter of 2024 at a press conference today (Tuesday, October 7). She emphasized that the government has taken necessary measures to prevent energy supply issues, highlighting the cooperation of the public during the gas imbalance.
Reduction in Gas Production Capacity Due to Enemy Attacks
During this meeting, Mohajerani reported a reduction of 230 million cubic meters in gas production capacity due to enemy attacks on the country's energy infrastructure. She also announced efforts to bring 100 million cubic meters of this capacity back into production.

The government spokesperson further noted that the main goal of the government is to provide the necessary fuel for the public and keep the lights on in the industry this winter. She emphasized the importance of synergy between the Supreme Energy Council and the Ministry of Interior, urging governors of northern provinces to take necessary measures to prevent energy shortages.
Measures for Fuel and Energy Supply
Mohajerani pointed to the potential for energy shortages in northern provinces and clarified that necessary warnings have been communicated to the governors of these provinces. She stressed that with public cooperation and by setting the temperature of boiler rooms, heaters, and heating devices to 20 degrees, winter can be passed with minimal outages and issues.
She also congratulated firefighters on their day and praised their role in critical situations. As an example, she mentioned the firefighters active during the Shahid Rajaei Port incident, who worked hard to provide services despite the long distance.
Mohajerani stated that the government is seeking to anticipate and manage the gas imbalance situation, noting that with the cooperation and support of the public, a calm and problem-free winter can be achieved.
