Farshad Moghimi, the head of the Organization for the Development and Renovation of Industries of Iran, announced that the damaged line of Phase 14 of the South Pars gas field will return to the country's gas production cycle this year. Following field assessments and final meetings during the visit of the caretaker Minister of Oil to this region, effective decisions have been made to remove the operational obstacles in the projects.
Physical progress and planning
Moghimi continued: "The physical progress of the second line of Phase 14 of South Pars has reached 74%, and according to the plans, we expect this line to return to the country's gas production cycle by early Bahman at the latest." This action will significantly contribute to increasing the country's gas production capacity.
Increasing gas production capacity
The operationalization of this production line could add about 14 million cubic meters per day to the country's gas processing capacity. Moghimi emphasized the importance of the caretaker Minister of Oil and the executive team’s presence in these projects, adding that this presence is very necessary under the current circumstances.
He also stated: "The decisions made to address the operational challenges of the projects can significantly increase the speed of achieving the set goals and facilitate a quicker return of gas production capacities, helping to reduce the energy imbalance in the country."
Visit to damaged refineries
Hamid Bord, the caretaker Minister of Oil, visited the damaged refineries of South Pars along with Arsalan Zarei, the governor of Bushehr, and Mousa Ahmadi, the head of the Energy Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, on October 13. During this visit, the reconstruction process and the actions taken to revive the damaged sections of these refineries were reviewed.
Bord assessed the necessary actions for the reconstruction and revival of the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth refineries of South Pars to ensure that the gas production capacities return to their normal state soon.
