Mostafa Rajabi Mashhadi, the Deputy for Electricity and Energy of the Ministry of Energy and spokesperson for the electricity industry, announced new details regarding the provision of electricity for industries in the country during the management of electricity consumption. This action is in line with the government's supportive policy for the production and employment sector.
Power Supply for Small Industries
Rajabi Mashhadi emphasized the importance of supporting small and medium producers, stating that electricity for all industrial parks and industries with a demand of less than 2 megawatts will be fully provided without any restrictions by electricity distribution companies. This action aims to prevent disruptions in the production process of these units and enhance their production capacity.
Power Supply for Large and Energy-Intensive Industries
The spokesperson for the electricity industry also referred to the status of power supply for large and energy-intensive industries, stating that industries with a demand of over 2 megawatts that are customers of electricity distribution companies can obtain their required electricity without restrictions from 10 PM to 10 AM. This approach will particularly apply to metal industries including copper, aluminum, steel, and ferroalloys, as well as petrochemical industries that are considered customers of regional electricity companies.
Rajabi Mashhadi further emphasized that special arrangements have been made for strategic industries, especially slab producers. These industries have been prioritized by the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade for electricity supply and will be completely exempt from restrictions.
Using the Energy Exchange for Surplus Electricity Supply
The Deputy for Electricity and Energy of the Minister of Energy noted in the final part of his remarks that large industries can utilize transparent and competitive mechanisms of the energy exchange to secure surplus electricity beyond their allocated quota. These industries will be able to purchase electricity from the "Green Board", "Free Board", as well as buy "Savings Certificates" and utilize the capacity of power plants subject to Article 4 of the Law on Removing Barriers to the Development of the Electricity Industry, thus completely eliminating potential restrictions.
These policies and measures are designed to support production and employment in the country and improve the economic situation in the current circumstances, and it is expected that they will yield positive results.
