Abadan Refinery, one of the largest and oldest refineries in the country, is currently continuing to produce petroleum products in a stable and problem-free condition. Seyed Mohammad Reza Movahedizadeh, the Governor of Khuzestan, provided a report on the production process and the condition of the injured from the recent incident during his visit to the refinery on Thursday, September 24.

Production Status at Abadan Refinery

Movahedizadeh emphasized that there are no issues regarding the production of petroleum products at Abadan Refinery, and production is at its expected level. According to him, the continuous efforts of the refinery management, as well as the engineers and technicians, have been effective in maintaining and increasing the output of this industrial unit.

Treatment Progress of the Injured

The Governor of Khuzestan also referred to the condition of the injured from the recent incident at the refinery, stating: "The two injured individuals are currently in a favorable condition, and their treatment continues at Taleghani Hospital in Ahvaz. The third person, who has suffered more severe burns, is under special care." He noted that initial treatment actions were carried out at Abadan Hospital before the injured were transferred to Taleghani Hospital.

Movahedizadeh further appreciated the efforts of the staff at Abadan Refinery to maintain production under critical conditions and stated that everyone is cooperating to resolve issues and continue the refinery's operations. This cooperation and solidarity among the staff reflect the importance and credibility of Abadan Refinery in the country's oil industry.

Consequences of the Incident and the Future of Abadan Refinery

Abadan Refinery, with a daily production capacity of 420,000 barrels of crude oil, is considered a cornerstone in supplying petroleum products for the country. Given the current situation and the efforts made, it seems that this industrial unit can continue its activities and soon return to normal conditions. However, there is a need for further investigations and assessments of safety conditions at this refinery to prevent similar incidents in the future.
