Rahim Minaei, the project executor for the construction of the West Karun power plant and auxiliary facilities, announced the completion of the final sections of the ٢٣ kV power transmission line of Northern Dezful. This line was constructed to transfer electricity from the northern part of the Azadegan oil field to the Cheshmeh-Khosh, Dalpari, and East Paydar oil fields and has a transmission capacity of ١٠٠ megawatts.

Details of the Project Implementation

Minaei pointed out that this project is being implemented based on the resolution of the board of directors of the National Iranian Oil Company, stating: The execution of the project has progressed in four sections, three of which are dedicated to the power transmission line. Currently, the provision of ٤٠ megawatts of electricity needed for the facilities of the Cheshmeh-Khosh, Dalpari, and East Paydar oil fields is planned through this line.

Impacts on Energy Infrastructure

Minaei continued: These oil fields previously received their required electricity from the national grid, but with the construction of the Northern Dezful transmission line, in addition to providing the possibility of supplying electricity to these facilities from a new route, parts of the region that have previously lacked electricity will also be electrified.

He pointed out the role of this project in developing the energy supply infrastructure of the region, saying: The creation of electricity transmission capacity along this route has also facilitated the use of existing infrastructure for future development projects, and necessary measures have been taken to connect the development project of the Sohrab oil field to this line.

The executor of the construction project of the West Karun power plant and auxiliary facilities explained: Previously, the electricity needed for the Sohrab project was planned to be supplied through the northern part of the Azadegan field and by constructing a dedicated transmission line, but with the construction of the Northern Dezful line, the possibility of connecting this project from a midpoint along the route has been provided; therefore, in the event of future development of the Sohrab project, there will be no need to construct a new dedicated transmission line.

Minaei also mentioned the construction of a solar power plant in the Cheshmeh-Khosh, Dalpari, and East Paydar areas, stating: The electricity transmission infrastructure created along this route will also facilitate the transfer of electricity generated by the solar power plant to other facilities in the future, creating the ground for more effective use of production and transmission capacities in the region.
