Ahmad Moradi, a member of the Energy Commission of the Parliament, pointed out the likelihood of gas pressure drops in some regions of the country during winter in specialized and supervisory meetings of the commission, stating: "The development of various scenarios and proactive planning is on the agenda of the Parliament and executive agencies." This planning is aimed at preventing energy imbalance and ensuring sustainable fuel supply for power plants.

Readiness of Power Plants and Liquid Fuel Supply

Moradi also announced the completion of many major repairs of power plants, saying: "The readiness of production units is at the highest level." He emphasized the importance of securing liquid fuel and alternatives for power plants, stating: "This issue is considered a vital necessity." He added: "To manage emergency conditions, preventive measures, including completing fuel reserves for power plants and removing technical obstacles in storage tanks, are underway."

Development of New Storage Capacities

Moradi also emphasized the necessity of developing new storage capacities, stating: "Finalizing the allocation of winter fuel for emergency generators of industries and organizations is another important measure to reduce the dependency of sensitive sectors on the national grid during peak consumption hours." He noted that given the heavy reliance of the residential sector on gas and the potential for tension in some areas, optimization and national cooperation are essential.

Furthermore, Moradi referred to the efforts of the oil and gas sector, stating: "In this sector, appropriate efforts are being made to increase production capacity." These efforts aim to address the challenges facing energy supply and improve the current situation in the cold season. Given the importance of the issue, the Parliament and relevant institutions are continuously reviewing and monitoring the status of the country's energy network.
