The Iranian Offshore Oil Company has signed a one billion dollar contract for the purchase of services for four offshore drilling rigs. This contract was signed in a ceremony held on Sunday (October ٢٦) by Ahmadreza Rasti, the CEO of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company.

Details of the contract and its importance

In this ceremony, Ahmadreza Rasti referred to the months-long efforts to finalize these contracts, stating: "This signature is the result of the collaboration of various entities in the oil industry, and without the cooperation of the managers and colleagues of the National Iranian Oil Company, this achievement would not have been possible." He emphasized that the four new drilling rigs, with low construction years and suitable technical characteristics, will contribute to the development of drilling activities and increase production in the country's offshore fields.

Need for drilling rigs and equipment supply

The CEO of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company stated that the company needs at least ١٣ offshore drilling rigs to meet its operational needs, and the supply of these four rigs will address part of the company's requirements. He added: "We hope this action will pave the way for more activity in the maintenance and development of oil and gas fields in the Persian Gulf."

Amir Maqiseh, the investment and business manager of the National Iranian Oil Company, also expressed gratitude for the efforts made during this ceremony, stating that these contracts are part of the National Iranian Oil Company's program to secure logistics and necessary equipment aimed at increasing the country's oil production. He noted that these contracts are signed within the framework of public-private partnership and with the BOO (Build-Operate-Own) model.

Progress in the drilling industry and domestic collaborations

Ali Daghaghi, the CEO of Petroiran, and Alireza Salmandzadeh, the CEO of Sina Energy Development Holding, also highlighted the importance of attracting domestic investors into the production sector and strengthening the offshore drilling fleet. They emphasized the necessity of close cooperation between employers and investors to ensure timely supply and arrival of rigs.

Salman Khosravi, the deputy CEO of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company, also pointed out the company's need for drilling rigs, stating that timely equipment supply is vital for achieving significant results in oil and gas production. These ٤٠٠-foot drilling rigs will enter the company's drilling fleet for the first time.
