Mehdi Sattari-Manesh, the Head of Public Engineering at Isfahan Oil Refinery, announced a reduction of more than 30% in the electricity supply costs of this refinery. This cost reduction is due to a change in the method of purchasing electricity and utilizing the capacity of the energy exchange. Sattari-Manesh explained that in order to reduce operational costs and take advantage of legal capacities and the resolutions of the parliament and government for managing energy imbalance, Isfahan Refinery has changed its electricity supply method.

Change in Electricity Supply Method

Isfahan Refinery has turned to purchasing base and green electricity from the energy exchange. This action is being taken to optimize resource use and reduce costs while the oil and energy industry faces many challenges in energy supply. Sattari-Manesh also referred to the initiative and creativity of the electrical engineering staff and stated that the implementation of this plan has been carried out with the help of this specialized team.

Positive Economic Consequences

The reduction in electricity costs at Isfahan Oil Refinery can help improve the financial situation of this industrial unit. Since electricity costs are one of the main expenses in the oil refining industry, these changes can significantly impact overall cost reduction and increase the profitability of the refinery. Moreover, this action is a positive step towards the optimal management of energy resources in the country.
